2. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy covers:

Data collected when you use Alert91 as a customer (account holder)
Data collected from end-users of websites monitored by Alert91 (via the monitor.js script)
Data collected when you visit alert91.com

3. What Data Does monitor.js Collect?

When you embed the Alert91 monitoring script (monitor.js) on your website, it collects the following technical data from your website visitors:

⚠️ Important: Alert91 monitoring data is anonymous and technical in nature. Individual visitors cannot be identified from the data we collect.

4. Account Holder Data

When you create an Alert91 account, we collect:

Name and email address
Company name
Phone number (optional, for WhatsApp alerts)
Billing information (processed by Razorpay — we do not store card details)
Login timestamps and activity logs

5. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data exclusively to:

Provide the Alert91 monitoring service
Send uptime, SSL, and error alerts to you
Generate weekly monitoring reports
Detect anomalies and performance issues on your client websites
Provide customer support
Send transactional emails (alerts, reports, billing)
Improve the Alert91 platform

We do not:

Sell your data or your visitors' data to any third party
Use your data for advertising purposes
Share data with other Alert91 customers

6. Data Storage and Security

All Alert91 data is stored on servers located in India. We implement the following security measures:

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)

JWT-based authentication with token expiry

8. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following service providers, strictly for operating Alert91:

Nodemailer / SMTP: For sending alert emails
Razorpay: For payment processing (subject to Razorpay's privacy policy)
Twilio: For WhatsApp alert delivery (subject to Twilio's privacy policy)

We do not share data with any analytics companies, advertising networks, or data brokers.

9. Your Rights (DPDP Act 2023 & DPDP Rules 2025)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules 2025 (notified 13 November 2025), you have the following rights as a Data Principal:

Right to Access: Request a summary of your personal data we process and the identities of all Data Processors and third parties with whom it has been shared.
Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated personal data.
Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your account and all associated personal data. We will process erasure requests within 90 days as required by Rule 14 of the DPDP Rules 2025.
Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for processing your personal data at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Right to Grievance Redressal: Lodge a complaint with our Data Protection Officer. If unresolved, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Alert91 dashboard uses minimal cookies:

Authentication token: Stored in localStorage to keep you logged in
Session preferences: UI settings stored in localStorage

The monitor.js script uses localStorage on your visitors' browsers only for anonymous session tracking (30-minute sessions). No cross-site tracking cookies are set.

12. Children's Privacy

Alert91 is a B2B service intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18 years of age.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify account holders of significant changes via email. Continued use of Alert91 after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
